* Le Concordat : À la suite de la Révolution française de 1789, la France est secouée de nombreuses guerres civiles et religieuses. Le Concordat de 1801 signé entre Napoléon Bonaparte et le pape Pie VII reconnaît la religion catholique comme étant la religion principale en France et la reconnaissance de la République par le pape Pie VII. C’est d’ailleurs grâce au Concordat que de nombreuses fêtes catholiques sont restées des jours fériés en France comme l’Ascension ou l’Assomption.
** Selon les évangiles de Marc et de Matthieu, il fut exécuté sur ordre d'Hérode Antipas, à la demande d'Hérodiade et de sa fille Salomé.

* The Concordat: Following the French Revolution of 1789, France was shaken by numerous civil and religious wars. The Concordat of 1801 signed between Napoleon Bonaparte and Pope Pius VII recognizes the Catholic religion as the main religion in France and the recognition of the Republic by Pope Pius VII. It is also thanks to the Concordat that many Catholic holidays have remained public holidays in France, such as the Ascension or the Assumption.
